Tvm: An Asian Women’s Film Festival will be held at the Kalabhavan Theatre in Trivandrum on March 13 & 14, 2010. This festival is being organised by Alliance Française de Trivandrum in association with the Embassy of France in India and Kerala Chalachitra Academy on the occasion of the International Women’s Day as part of their ‘Celebrations For Women’ commencing on 8 March 2010.
The festival will showcase a package of more than 20 documentary films by some of the famous Women directors like Meena Nanji, Paromita Vohra ,Priyanka Chhabra and Kavitha Pai. A special session is dedicated to the new genre of Malayalam filmmakers like Sangeetha, Sreebala K Menon and Geethu Mohandas. An open forum to interact with the filmmakers is also being organised alongside the festival. It will be moderated by Ms Beena Paul Venugopal and attended by eminent personalities, prominent among whom are well known French writer Dominique Hoeltgen, Sangeetha Padmanabhan, Sreebala K Menon, Geethu Mohandas, Anjali Menon, J. Geetha, Ahsam and Asha Joseph. Entry is free for the screenings.
