Tvm: Goethe Zentrum, Trivandrum is screening the award winning film, Halbe Treppe (Grill Point) on November 05, 2011. Directed by Andreas Dresen, the film has won 11 awards and 9 nominations at various festivals during 2002-03 including the awards for Best Actor and Best Director. Halbe Treppe is a powerful depiction of daily life at the German-Polish border, made through an inventive creative method.

Tvm: Taking a deviation from the path of feature films, Goethe Zentrum, Trivandrum is presenting DocEdge, a documentary festival that will feature 11 award-winning documentaries, selected entries from the DOK Leipzig Film Festival, as well as other award-winning films from the Baltic States, China and India. Entry is free to the screenings in the evenings.

Tvm: Goethe Zentrum Trivandrum will host the third German Film Festival of Kerala from March 21, 2011. Noted filmmaker Shyama Prasad will inaugurate the week long film festival to be held at the amphitheatre in Goethe-Zentrum.

Tvm: Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum will be screening Nach Fuenf im Urwald (After Five in the Jungle) directed by Hans-Christian Schmid on March 05, 2011. The film has won the best young director prize at the Hof International Film Festival in 1995 and Bavarian Film Award for best production in 1997. The film also fetched Franka Potente, who played the lead role, the Bavarian Film Award for Best Young Actress in 1996.

Tvm: On the occasion of International Women’s day, Alliance Française de Trivandrum in association with the Embassy of France in India and Filca is organising a screening of the film Women are Heroes, directed by JR on 5 March at 3.30pm.

Tvm: Alliance Française de Trivandrum in association with the Embassy of France in India and Filca is organising a Valentine’s Day special film festival ‘Celebration: Love’ February 15, 2011 from 3 pm onwards. The festival showcases two films which are romantic comedies. The films take a close-up view of the search for love and explore love in its different colours. Entry is free for the event.
