Tvm: Alliance Française de Trivandrum is hosting a ‘very original’ music concert by Monsieur Untel at Vyloppilly Samskriti Bhavan on January 13, 2012 at 6.30 pm. Monsieur Untel represents the new generation of French musicians who tries to give a different perspective to the ordinary things in the world. His songs are satirical expressions of the modern world and its ways, which he equates to the animal world.

Tvm: Goethe Zentrum, Trivandrum is screening the award winning film, Rabbit Without Ears (Keinohrhasen) on January 07, 2011. Directed by Til Schweiger, this 2007 film has won 6 awards and 2 nominations at various festivals in Germany during 2008-09. Til Schweiger also plays the lead role in this film.

Goethe Zentrum presents Minguet Quartet @ Trivandrum, Nov 20

Tvm: As part of the ‘Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities’ programme, Goethe Zentrum Trivandrum is hosting the Minguet Quartet on November 20, 2011. The Minguet Quartet was founded in 1988 and is today made up of Ulrich Isfort (violin I), Annette Reisinger (violin II), Aroa Sorin (viola) and Matthias Diener (cello). The group takes its name from Pablo Minguet, an eighteenth-century Spanish philosopher who in his writings tried to make the fine arts accessible to the masses. The Minguet Quartet has the same intention.

Halbe Treppe @ Goethe Zentrum on Nov 05

Tvm: Goethe Zentrum, Trivandrum is screening the award winning film, Halbe Treppe (Grill Point) on November 05, 2011. Directed by Andreas Dresen, the film has won 11 awards and 9 nominations at various festivals during 2002-03 including the awards for Best Actor and Best Director. Halbe Treppe is a powerful depiction of daily life at the German-Polish border, made through an inventive creative method.

Hay Festival Kerala @ Trivandrum, Nov 17-19

Tvm: Trivandrum is all set to host the second edition of Hay Festival Kerala from November 17-19, 2011. The festival organisers have announced the programme details, which include discussions on films, children’s literature, world literature, regional literature, socio-political discussions, the publishing world and more. Entry to the Hay Festival is free for all. The festival will host close to 45 sessions spread across the three days.
