Tvm: Kerala University has got a new presence in cyberspace. The new website of Kerala University which is already live, will have a formal launch soon. Kerala University has got a new web address also.

According to sources in Kerala University, the launch date is yet to be fixed but it can be as early as next Tuesday, depending on the availability of some VVIPs. Revamping the University website was a long pending task. The old website was stretched to its limits and instead of trying to redesign or revamp it, the University decided to go in for a fresh website.

While earlier website was designed and maintained by C-DIT, the new website has been developed by an IT firm based in Technopark. Apart from the looks and feel, the content in the website has also undergone a revamp. A large number of new sections and categories have been added. The website is now very informative and exhaustive. The website is based on Joomla, a leading Open Source CMS which makes updating and maintenance an easy task.

Meanwhile our readers can compare the old (http://www.keralauniversity.edu/) and the new (http://keralauniversity.ac.in/) websites and do let us know your comments.
