Tvm: The Technopark based Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management - Kerala (IIITM-K) is organising a four day National Conference cum Workshop on Scientific Computing from January 11-14, 2012 in Trivandrum. The workshop aims to exchange ideas across discipline boundaries of science and engineering. Scientific computing is the field of study associated with mathematical modelling and methods for providing numerical solutions to problems in science and engineering.
The seminar will focus on application of computing in all branches of science and engineering. Prof. V N Rajasekharan Pillai (Executive Vice President, KSCSTE & Principal Secretary, Science & Technology Department, Govt. of Kerala) will be inaugurating the function. Prof. M S Gopinathan (IISER, Trivandrum); Prof. V Sundarapandian (Vel Tech, Dr. RR & Dr. SR Technical University, Chennai); Prof. C Sudarsanakumar (SPAP, MG University); Dr. Satheesh Kumar K S (Dept. of Future Studies, Kerala University); Dr. Suresh C H (NIIST, Trivandrum); Dr. Ayan Datta (IISER, Trivandrum); Dr. Yohannan Panicker (TKM College of Arts & Science, Kollam); Hema Ramachandran (College of Engineering, Trivandrum) and Dr. T K Manojkumar (IIITM-K) will be handling different sessions of the conference cum workshop.
As per Nasscom, computational scientists will be in great demand soon in the R&D areas of all high-technology sectors, including IT, manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and health care. IIITM-K is a forerunner in spreading the culture of computational science among universities and other institutions in this region and this conference cum workshop is a step towards achieving this goal. Members of academic community and scientists from R&D institutions may participate in the workshop cum conference.
