Trivandrum to host CSI National Student Convention

Tvm: The Mar Baselios College of Engineering & Technology at Trivandrum is all set to host the 26 edition of the National Student Convention being organised by the Computer Society of India, Trivandrum Chapter from September 2-4, 2010. The theme for this year’s convention is IT for Nation Development. Capt. Raghu Raman, Head, National Intelligence Grid, Govt. of India will inaugurate the convention at a function to be presided by M D Agrawal, Vice President, Computer Society of India.

Prakash Sayini, Global Head, Universites and Developer Programs - Forum Nokia will deliver the keynote address. Students from all over the country are expected to attend the two-day National Student Convention. The major domains under the theme of the convention are IT in Agriculture and Life Sciences, Green Technologies, IT in Education, E-Governance, Entrepreneurship and Defence & Space Applications.

Technical Paper Presentations by 17 teams from Engineering Colleges, Project Presentations, Invited Talks and Technical Quiz are some of the programmes being planned for the convention. Dream Big - a contest for presenting innovative ideas using the latest Technology advances, Technology Shoot - 5 minute video fest on Technology / Product / Service, Open Mind - a challenge contest using FOSS tools and My Company - a Business Plan competition to showcase entrepreneurial skills for future IT/ICT entrepreneurs are some of the activities of the event.
