Kochi: Tecom, the Dubai based promoter of the SmartCity Kochi project, said on Monday that it was not prepared to wait beyond December this year for sorting out issues with the State government regarding the much delayed Rs. 1,500 crore project and would be forced to rethink. "December is not a deadline, but it is a point past which we have to rethink about the future of the project," Smart city CEO Fareed Abdulrahman said in a release.

“But as mentioned earlier decisions can be taken within minutes and there is no point waiting endlessly or delaying this far. Our commitment to Kerala and the people of Kerala is important to us and we hope to begin the project soon.”

SmartCity CEO Fareed Abdulrahman also said that the company is yet to receive any invitation from the government for furthur talks to resolve the impasse. He mentioned that they are yet to hear from the Chief Minister on the invitation extended to him to visit Dubai.
