Malayalam Wikipedia Study Camp on February 19

Kochi: As Wikipedia celebrates its 10th anniversary, the Malayalam Wiki Society is organising a Study Camp on various initiatives by Malayalam Wiki on February 19, 2011 at Ernakulam. The Study Camp aims to give guidance to those who are interested in contributing to Wikipedia and Malayalam Wiki, in particular.

Malayalam Wikipedia, which was launched in December, 2002, now has more than 16,500 articles is popular all over the world and is one of the most visited online libraries. A valuable treasure for the gen-next, the Wiki library has articles contributed mostly by Malayalees who reside outside Kerala. With almost 250 active editors, the Malayalam Wiki community continues to be one of the most active Indian Wiki communities.  The Malayalam Wiki had crossed recently crossed the 10 lakhs (1 million) edits milestone making it the first Indian language Wikipedia to cross this milestone.

The Study Camp led by the Malayalam Wiki Society intends to give ample help to those who are interested in contributing to their new ventures. It will also have opportunities to get the queries answered on publishing in Wikipedia.
