CM distributes CATFOSS certificates

E-mail

Tvm: Chief Minister Shri V S Achuthanandan gave away the certificates to thirteen students who have successfully completed their course at the Kochi based Centre for Advanced Training in Free and Open Source Software (CATFOSS). The certificates were given at a brief function held in the CM’s conference hall at the Secretariat in Trivandrum on July 16, 2010. CATFOSS operates out of the ITeS Habitat maintained by the Kerala State IT Mission.

CATFOSS is probably the first of its kind centre in India to develop highly qualified manpower who can enrich the applications of FOSS based software tools in a time bound manner, thereby bridging a very crucial gap in the e-governance sector and IT industry. Students are trained on various aspects of development of FOSS based software tools during the training period of 6 months. This is the second batch to pass out from CATFOSS.

Pranabjyoti Nath IAS, Registrar, C-DIT and other senior officials from the IT Mission, C-DIT and CATFOSS were present for the Certificate Distribution Ceremony.
