Tvm: Devdas, a 35 year old person from Thrissur District has been arrested by the Kerala Cyber Crime Police on charges of posting and circulating online morphed indecent photographs of journalists working with the popular Malayalam news channel, Asianet. The arrest was based on a complaint from Mahesh Chandran, a senior Reporter with the channel, to the Police high command.

The HiTech Crime Enquiry Cell of Kerala Police registered a case at the Cyber Crime Police Station following their investigations and a team lead by Circle Inspector Joshy Mathew arrested the culprit on August 06, 2011 from Thrissur. He was later presented at the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court in Thiruvananthapuram and has since been remanded.

Several sexually explicit photographs of journalists working with Asianet News channel were found circulating on the Internet some time back. The Asianet News management had also filed a complaint with the Police in this regard.

Devdas, who is a DTP operator, was apparently livid about a particular episode of a film based programme on the channel. When the channel didn’t respond to his complaint, he resorted to morphing the photographs of the news anchors and other lady journalists of Asianet with pornographic pictures and posted them on online sharing sites.
