Kerala’s second Technolodge inaugurated

Kollam: Kerala’s second Technolodge at Perinad near Kollam was inaugurated by State Minister for Local Self Government, Shri Paloli Mohammadkutty.

The Technolodge at Perinad Panchayat comprising of 2750 sq. ft. has been fully taken over by Technopark based Accentia Technologies Ltd., a Business Process Management (BPM) major. The company will be employing about 200 professionals in Perinad to work across three shifts from the nearby places to meet the growing business demands worldwide using local talent pool. The first Technolodge at Kadakkal, Kollam was inaugurated in November 2009.

Shri Mohammadkutty in his inaugural address, stressed on the need to profitably utilise the human resource potential of the Kerala villages where large number of educated young men and women are seeking employment opportunities and how the Government’s Technolodges will provide state-of-the-art work atmosphere in villages to utilize the highly skilled talent pool locally to deliver world class quality solutions.

 

The key to the Perinad Technolodge was formally presented to Shri C K Sooraj, Director Operations & HR, Accentia by Dr. Ajay Kumar IAS, Principal Secretary (IT), Kerala. “Technolodge has been set up with the objective to create low cost alternative locations for BPO companies. Many IT companies in Kerala have already shown interest in the upcoming Technolodges as this initiative will provide local talent and infrastructure facilities and provide lower cost opportunities,” said Dr. Ajay Kumar.

Minister for Education, Shri M A Baby, in whose assembly constituency the new Technolodge is located, presided over the function. Felicitations were offered by Minister for Devaswom, Shri Kadanapally Ramachandran, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri N Balagopal, Presidents and members of the District, Block and Village panchayats and officials from various deparments also graced the occasion. Mr Mervin Alexander, Director, Kerala State IT Infrastructure & CEO, Technopark presented the report on Technolodge at the function.
