IBS to provide IT solutions to Oman Petroleum Co.

Tvm: IBS Software Services based in Technopark, has got a contract from the leading petroleum exploration company in Oman, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), to provide IT solutions to streamline its logistics services.

The IBS solutions will streamline the booking system of PDO and increase the efficiency of its logistics services. The financial details of the contract were however not disclosed.

Warith Al Kharusi, Logistics Manager, PDO said, the company was in the process of 'transforming all our logistics services' - cargo management services, passenger management services and materials management services. "As part of this strategy we have awarded an IT contract to IBS to optimise the process and create the utmost value and visibility in our passenger movements," said Kharusi.

Peter Cefai, President and Head (Global Business Operations), IBS Group said, "IBS is excited to work with PDO in providing a solution that fits their aspirations."

Petroleum Development Oman is the foremost exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. It accounts for more than 90% of the country's crude-oil production and nearly all of its natural-gas supply.
