Tvm: The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom), the premier trade body and the chamber of commerce of the IT-BPO industries in India, has opened its first office in Kerala, also the first one outside metros. The Nasscom office at the Park Centre in Technopark, Trivandrum was inaugurated by Som Mittal, President of Nasscom in the presence of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and the Executive Council members and Technopark officials.

Earlier during the day, the Nasscom Executive Council meeting was held at the IBS campus in Technopark. This is the first time that Kerala has hosted a Nasscom Executive Council meeting. According to sources at IBS, the Executive Council members appreciated the way the meeting was organised.

The key priorities that were addressed in the Executive Council meeting were issues related to global protectionism, building an ecosystem for emerging  companies  and  start-ups,  creating  a  partnership  with  the  government  for  e-governance,  build opportunities  in new markets,  focus on  talent development and enhancing data security and privacy. Nasscom has identified  its priorities for the year; spanning across  talent development, creating a vibrant SME ecosystem in the country, re-branding the industry to showcase the transformation imperative, aligning with the government agenda on inclusive growth and building emerging opportunities defined by the Perspective 2020 vision.

After the inauguration of the office, representatives from the Trivandrum Development Front made a presentation to the Nasscom team on 'Quality of Life in Trivandrum', as a part of their on-going promotional activities under the 'Intelligent Trivandrum' initiative.
