Tvm: Natana, the fine arts club being planned for the employees of different IT companies in Technopark Trivandrum got off to a soft launch with its first resource meeting on January 31, 2011. About 200 members of the club met at the Park Centre in Technopark. The event was planned as an initiation ceremony and a motivational exercise for the aspiring techies.

V K Mathews, Chairman & CEO, IBS and President, GTech shared the vision of Natana at the meet attended by Shyama Prasad, Film director and Bina Paul Venugopal, Film Editor and also Art Director, International Film Festival of Kerala. Earlier welcoming the gathering, Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark said that such initiatives are most welcome and indeed necessary to mellow down the work stress of IT professionals. He also hoped that it will be a model for other Technology Parks.

“Art is seen as an end in itself. Other than fulfilling your dreams, it helps in personal and community development,” said Shyamaprasad while Bina Paul suggested that that “Natana would help bridge the gap between the modern Trivandrum which consists of the young techie crowd and the traditional Trivandrum that already has its rich heritage of cultural expressions and exchanges in place.”

Strategic measures to take forward the club were discussed in the interaction with the dignitaries and the employees. Anoop P Ambika, Secretary, GTech shared the future plans of the club. The formal launch of Natana is expected to happen by last week of February or first week of March.
