Kerala IT logs another normal working day

Tvm: The IT industry in Kerala, based out of the IT parks, had a normal working day today although the state came to a standstill on yet another hartal. For companies in Technopark and Infopark, the major IT hubs in the state, most of the employees reached their offices, thanks to the convoy services arranged by the Park authorities with support from the police.

The team of Kerala IT News which followed one such convoy to Technopark for some distance saw large number of employees at all the bus stops. Many techies who normally have their own transport arrangement opted for the convoy service today. “Although I had to leave early from my house, it’s safe and I can reach TP with peace of mind”, said Dileep, a techie waiting for the convoy bus. There are also many who join the convoy in their own vehicles.

It’s a matter of pride for the IT parks in Kerala that not a single working day has been lost over these years to the hartals called by different political parties in the state. Since the LDF government came into power four years back, this is probably the 21st statewide shutdown. During the UDF regime, there were 22 hartals and with another year of this government remaining, that record is sure to be broken.
