Paragon fellowship to BlueLabs CEO

E-mail

Kochi: Mathew Jose, CEO of BlueLabs Technology Solutions based in Infopark Kochi, has got Paragon Fellowship by Singapore based Foundation for Youth Social Enterpreneurship.

On receiving the fellowship, Mathews said, "Through this recognition I can share my experiences as an entrepreneur with other fellows. A lot of people think they need huge investments to start a company, but all you need is determination to succeed and a proper strategy to jumpstart the business.

I hope my story gives aspiring entrepreneurs the confidence to take chances in life to realize their dreams,” As part of the fellowship, he will participate in many virtual and local training sessions in various countries. The fellowship also allows personal and professional development through a 12- month mentorship programme and offers an opportunity to tap into a network of diverse young entrepreneurs from Asia Pacific.

Mathews Jose entered IT services sector in 2002. He set up BlueLabs Technology Solutions in 2008 at Infopark, Kochi. With 130 employees, the company recently opened the first full fledged delivery centre at Infopark apart from a sales office in Stockholm, Sweden and a customer support and sales office in Sydney, Australia. BlueLabs has also launched an IT finishing school, BlueLabs MaxIT.

News Update

In the last couple of days, we got several complaints and comments  criticising the CEO. We got in touch with the BlueLabs CEO and quoting from his mail to Kerala IT News, “We lost two of our major clients and client payments worth crores got stuck. It affected the working capital of the company and we decided to close the operations of the company.”

While we understand the sentiments of the employees who lost their jobs, we also realise these things do happen in business. As these comments did not go with the objectives of our news portal, we have removed the comments.”

Mr Ex Employee
am an ex employee of Blue labs. During employment period there,I never got my salary on time.Every time Mr Mathews postpone salary dates and then break his own promises and salary get delayed further. For branding himself,he had put his profiles in some websites like Paragon100asia. But any award which is awarded to him will be a great dishonor to the award itself.

X-Bluelabs
I am an Ex-employee of Bluelabs. We were around 98 employees working and the company was in a good position. But due to the extra-ordinary managerial skills possessed by Mathews the company has collapsed. It ended its operations and my pending salary is more than 2.5lakhs (6 months salary)

I am also an ex-employee of Bluelabs.
Mr. Mathews Jose do not deserve to be called an entrepreneur.
He is not enterprising, but a scheming, manipulative individual who has with his sugar coated words, befooled all around him. He made false promises to all employees about pending salary, when he never intended to pay it in the first place. Most of the employees supported him without salary for months together, till he abruptly put an end to the company operations, one fine morning.

This is in connection with an article posted at http://keralaitnews.com/it-parks/infopark/646-paragon-fellowship and the subsequent comments from the portal editor. While I do respect the website policies, I still think it could have been better served if both sides of the story were understood before a comment like the existing one was inserted.

With regard to your conclusion that ups and down are not rare in business, I totally agree with that. And every business owner would definitely like to get over that lean patch. However in our case, the company directors were not at all interested in getting the business up (it was not that down, firstly). They in fact tried to make the employees believe that they have decided to invite investors to raise fund. At a later stage, it was changed and a complete take-over story began to spread. All these efforts were to let the operations run smoothly and generate revenue as usual. Salaries were delayed or not given in most cases, the financial crisis being the excuse.

I have been serving as a manager there at Bluelabs and have been in charge of client accounts. Obviously I was aware of the amount of fund that was flowing in. It was more_than_sufficient to manage all of the operations, not just the salry. When I did some calcuations at my end, with the available information, it has become clear that only around 30% of the income was spent for company related expenses. So, one would need to think whether it was such a serious set-back. As far as I believe, with the so-called client loss (please don't ask me the reasons for that incident), only a part of the profit has been lost :- the company was never in loss.

Another issue with our directors was that they never told the truth. We were once informed that the take-over has been complete and the agreement signed, with a very huge listed company and that they have even released a month's salary as well. In reality, nothing had happened. The negotiations had come to an end when the directors finally decided that the deal was less profitable for THEM. They even tried to convey a message that getting salary accounts opened in one of the most reputed banks in our contry was the main cause of the delay in distributing salaries. That particular bank need ONE MONTH for opening a savigs bank account. Funny enough, eh :)

Don't assume that only the employees have been on the recieveing end. Directors have been impartial in that regard and no vendor was spared. Only difference was in the figures :- some in crores, some in lacs and some others in thousands. If the information that I recieved can be believed, there is still a huge amount of rent pending to Infopark as well. The most interesting and unfortunate fact is that, these people are still making a lot of money as they seem to have started a new venture under a new name 'Wodux' Technologies.

You might get a feeling that the above are words from disgust and disappointmnet or are the sentiments of one who had lost the job. It is not. I just wanted to remind you that these are some of the real inside stories from the best 'Youth Social Enterpreneur', whom the Keralaitnews.com had once proudly presented on its website. If you sincerely think that the situation requires a bi-way inquiry rather than a mere clarification from the CEO side, then I would request that you do so. You are welcome to check each and every point I made above to see where those factually stand.

Thanks for taking time to read through. Another ex-employee

I wonder why all these ex-employees telling like this ? Who told you to stay with the companies for these months without salaries. Bluelabs starts its bad luck when some employees joined from a Company near by Kalamassery. Some of them are good , but others were LIABILITIES for the company. And the bad thing mathews have ever done is appoint a COO who is good for nothing fellow. Every company have financial problems. At these time you have right to resign. Mud throwing after resignation is not good. This shows your culture.

Why the management didnt pay TDS , which is deducted from the employees ? is this because the COO suggested the CEO to do so ? Or the employees from the kalamassery company told him to do so ?

Question of staying with the company. As pointed out all company may have financial problems, those stayed with him and those staying with him did so because of the hope that it will be ok soon. At this time Mr CEO only did the fraud thing , called few employees confidentially and started new company.

How can one predict the company will shut down on Sep 22 and resign the company on feb itself .

Mr The Great 'NONLIABLE'..

After bad experiences and reading entire Ramayana, 'Mr. Work For Free' is researching about 'Who told you to stay with the companies for these months without salaries'. The simple reason was those guys were working while guys like YOU Mr. Free was gossipping around Koratty.

I am an ex-employee of Bluelabs Technology Solutions. My last 3 months salary is pending. I’m not belonging to any of the group. I would like to post my opinion regarding the same.

According to me Mr. Mathews is a big fraud and he always telling lie to the employees. He didn’t pay the salary of employees in time. Salary pending is happened in software companies. We can adjust it if the pending is for 1 week or 2 weeks. How can we work without salary for months?

He started Bluelabs with five employees. Latter Bluelabs have 100 employees .This shows that Mathews had a good team. All the employees work hardly and sincerely for the development of Bluelabs. But Mathews cheated all of them.

From Feb 2010 onward Mr. Mathews is moving all the clients’ payment from the company account to his personal account. From this we can understand that this cheating is already planned by Mathews. From Jan onwards the salary is pending for all the employees. If we asked for salary to CEO and HR director frequently, half of one month salary of 10 employees was deposited to the account. This generated a hope on others. So others were waiting for their salaries for the next days. But the salary is not deposited in the account. Whenever i tried to contact Mr. Mathews and HR Director over phone, they didn’t take the call and there is no response from them. They didn’t come to the office. They have no rules. But all the employees are forced to do the entire thing according to the rules and regulations of the company
