Kochi: The second phase of Infopark Kochi was launched on November 28, 2009 by the Chief Minister Shri V S Achuthanandan who laid the foundation stone for the expansion of Infopark Phase II. The Infopark Kochi is spread over 100 acres now and the second phase will see futher expansion into the Kunnathunadu and Puthencuruz villages. Infopark is acquiring 160 acres of land for expansion in its phase II.
The park will offer the first low cost plug and play BPO facility in the State. The park will be operational by December 2011 and will house domestic parks as well as Special Economic Zones for IT and ITeS and is expected to generate about 50,000 employment opportunities. A masterplan for Infopark, Kochi Phase II expansion, was also unveiled.
