Kerala IT makes a mark at GITEX 2011 in Dubai

Dubai: As the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) Technology Week got off to a start in Dubai today, Kerala IT, the Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala, is making a concerted effort to make its presence felt in the international arena and get major investments to the State. Sultan Malek Al Malek, MD, Dubai Internet City inaugurated the Kerala IT Pavilion at GITEX 2011.

One of the largest and most important ICT events around the globe, GITEX delivers a leading platform for industry innovation and an impressive track record of attracting the biggest names in the IT sector, connecting over 3,500 domestic and international IT vendors with more than 136,000 ICT professionals. Earlier today morning, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the 31st edition of the GITEX at the Dubai World Trade Centre to be held from October 9-13, 2011. GITEX is the largest IT exhibition in the Middle East.

Kerala IT is represented by Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark; Gigo Joseph, CEO, Infopark and K G Girish Babu, MD, Kerala State IT Infrastructure Ltd. (KSITL). Apart from marketing the existing IT Parks in Kerala - Technopark, Trivandrum and Infopark, Kochi and the forthcoming parks - Cyberpark, Kozhikode, the team is also showcasing the ‘Emerging Kerala’ event planned for April 19-21, 2012.
