Tvm: Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS), the US based provider of IT, consulting, and BPO services, today announced its first self owned campus in Kochi, Kerala. A MoU to acquire 15 acres of land in Infopark Phase II was signed today between Anand Bhushan, Sr. Associate General Counsel, Cognizant and Gigo Joseph, CEO, Infopark in Trivandrum in the presence of State Minister for IT & Industries, Shri P K Kunhalikutty. When complete, the new facility will have a built up area of 1.6 million sq. ft and seat 12,000 professionals.

Workshop promotes ICT use for excellence in higher education
Tvm: A one day workshop on ‘Enabling excellence in higher education and technology through ICT and NPTEL Resources’ was organised by Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management - Kerala (IIITM-K), National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), IIT, Madras and Eduworld Sciencenet at the Technopark in Trivandrum last week. The workshop was attended by more than 100 teachers from various colleges in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Ernakulam bags State School IT Fest 2012 Championship
Tvm: Ernakulam District has won the overall championship at the 10th edition of the State School IT Fest which concluded today at the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram. Kasaragod District was the runner up with Kozhikode, Kannur and Wayanad Districts in the third position. The best school in the High School category was PKMM HSS from Edarikkode in Malappuram District and MDS HSS from Kottayam, in the Higher Secondary School category.
Thiruvananthapuram Corporation bets big on RFID Project
Tvm: The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation will be soon implementing a centrally sponsored Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) project across the city. With this project, the Corporation envisages full fledged connectivity between each of the households and the Corporation Offices. An RFID tag will be installed at convenient location near the front door of each house within the Corporation area to enable the connectivity. RFID is the use of a wireless non-contact radio system to transfer data from a tag attached to an object, for the purposes of automatic identification and tracking.
Krossark launches Android based Mobile CRM solution
Tvm: Krossark Consulting Services, an IT services, solutions and consulting organisation based in USA with development centres in Technopark, Trivandrum and Chennai, has announced a Mobile Customer relationship management (CRM) solution that helps to bring the Sales & Service force automation features into the mobile device by integrating with Web CRM. The mobile solution is developed for Android platform and the application trial version is available from the Android Market.
In a statement, Sebastian Daniel, Vice President, Krossark said, “Krossark Mobile CRM is an Enterprise Mobility Application for on demand CRM Market. The solution seamlessly synchronises with the Applications that keep the Sales & Service force updated on the latest. The application provides several features that help the field force to keep in tab of their current day activities, record events, browse, communicate with each other or search by querying the knowledge base. The application architecture is scalable and can be customised to end user needs, while the user interface can be customised to be in-sync with the corporate standards. The solutions’ primary focus is to help optimise their time spend on the field.
The company has proposed three models for licensing the Application. Phone based licence where the application will be maintained by Krossark on a SAS mode, Application Licence where the same will be hosted at customer premise or server and Project based where the company will extend the existing CRM application to Mobile / Tablet.

State School IT Fest logs in Day 1 at Technopark
Tvm: The 10th edition of the State School IT Fest got off to a colourful start today at the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram. However the planned inaugural function was cancelled as mark of respect to the Kerala Governor who passed away last week. About 500 participants including students from all districts of the State, who have secured the first and second place in the school and sub-district level competitions, are attending the fest.
