Tvm: The Kerala Police in association with the Tourism Department has introduced an online system for registering the C-Form of foreign nationals. The new online system was inaugurated today by the State Minister for Home and Tourism, Shri Kodieri Balakrishnan.

Speaking at the function, the Minister said that this kind of an online system is being implemented in any State probably for the first time in India. He also requested the property owners to comply with the requirements of the system so as to make it effective.

Presently the properties have to submit the hard copy of the C-Form (Rule 14) under the Registration of Foreigners Rules, 1992, duly filled to the nearest police station within 24 hours of a foreigner’s visit. Hotels, Home Stays and Resorts who are already registered with the Kerala Tourism website will now be able to register online the mandatory C-Form containing details of each foreign national staying with them.

The C-forms and Tourist arrival details can now be submitted online through the Kerala Tourism’s departmental portal. With a large number of foreign travellers into the state, a state-of-the-art online system to register their details is increasingly important both in the context of tourism development and for the Police Department. According to DGP Jacob Punnoose IPS, the new system should make Kerala a safer destination by making the job of both the Police and property owners faster.

For property owners, this saves them from filling up the paper forms and submitting the hardcopies at nearest police station while getting an instant acknowledgment receipt. It also helps in creating a central database of visiting foreigners and will make their transactions with law enforcing authorities hassle free. Being an integrated system, it will help in tracking a foreigner’s movements in Kerala on a daily basis.
